Pre-Treatment Instructions:
7 days before treatment:
- Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days prior to treatment. It is fine to continue iron, vitamin D, and medically necessary blood thinners.
- Avoid Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications. We want mild inflammation to occur to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin.
- You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment.
- Prescription medications (including heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed right up to, and including, the day of and the day after your treatments (do not stop these medications).
- Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure 3 days before treatment.
- Minimize or avoid alcohol consumption.
- If possible, refrain from or minimize smoking prior to your procedure as it impacts the healing process.
- Please remember to stop using any prescription topical medications, Retin-A, alcohol-based toners, or Vitamin C serum unless cleared by Drs. Agarwal or Cavallin. This is to avoid redness and irritation post-procedure.
- You may continue to use approved moisturizer twice daily, followed by sunscreen.
- The areas to be treated should only be washed gently twice daily with approved gentle cleanser and water. No scrubbing, exfoliators, or washcloths.
- Please drink plenty of water the morning of your procedure.
